   August 09, 2005 Update
8/1/05 - 8/8/05 Montauk coast guard charter for an overnighter west of the fishtales was slow to get going, we arrived at 2:00p.m. and found out they had an awesome bite first thing in the morning and it fell apart through the day which was not what I wanted to hear. Right before dark we had a white marlin up in the spread which didn't want anything and swam away unscathed, it was fairly quiet through the night with only a couple of sharks through the slick, dolphin, and plenty of squid. back on the troll before light we were able to put a couple of yellowfin in the box to save the day.........

   August 09, 2005 Update
Week of 7/18/05 - 7/24/05 The Dim charter enjoyed some steady action right off the bat on a 1day canyon trolling trip east of the fishtales, with only 2 lines in the water we were hooked up on a 50lb yellowfin, lines back out hooked up immediately to a longfin albacore. Lter in the day with some mahi mahi in the box we had a white marlin come up to the Stalker Fade Squid spreader bar and wind up taking a swimming bally with a chugger head in blue/ white, and that was it for the remainder of the day....

On 6/25 the last day of the tournament we ran back to the SE and after a couple of small bluesharks we boated a 145lb mako, w/John Deluca on the rod. We were very happy with the fishing we had even though there was no money won, but there will be plenty for the barbeque. Here's a pic of Capt. Joe and John with John's largest mako to date.... June 24,25, 2005 On 6/24 the Pave The Wave crew fished the Montauk Marine Basin Shark Tournment. We ran right back to where we had the water the day before and were rewrded for a little while. Right off the bat a pod of Gint Bluefin tuna came wandering by and grabbed one of our baits intended for sharks and 1.5hrs later we pulled the hook on a Alutecnos 50 setup, back to the slick we went and by 2:00p.m. we had 2 small mako pups released and a very large blueshark on its way back to the scales, at the dock it weighed 181lbs, enough to hold first place for a little while.( ike I said a little while, maybe 2hrs).Here's a couple of pics of the blueshark..Sea Ya On The Sea's....Capt. Joe

June 20,2005- June 26, 2005 We did not sail this week until 6/23 with the Justin Lockwood party for a day of shark fishing. We had to travel a long way to the SE, but we did find the warmer water, a few bluesharks, and a nice mako. This fish weighing in at 125lbs.. Sea Ya On The Sea's....Capt.Joe

   June 28, 2005 Update
June 13, 2005- June 19, 2005. The fishing started off slow this week, but fortunately it picked up toward the weekend. The Pave The Wave Crew was in the Star Island Shark Tournament and we had a blast finally getting offshore for the first time of the season. Unfortunately we did not win, but we did put a good catch of bluesharks and one mako together, which were all released unharmed. The mako was also released, because of his size, hopefully he will help carry on the fishery in years to come......Sea Ya On The Sea's.....Capt.Joe

   June 28, 2005 Update

   May 31, 2005 Update
Well this past holiday weekend was great. The weather was the beutiful, seas were calm, but the fluke fishing wasn't as great as it should have been, the water temps cooled down from the NE winds we had last week, which blew in cooler water. We were able to put good catches of fluke together, but it was tough. High hook of the weekend was John Deluca, with six fluke to his credit on saturday, and then another six to eight on sunday. Big fish of the weekend came from Kevin Fallacci, with a six pounder. All in All it was a great weekend with 50 fluke for the 2 days with 15 going home to the table......Sea Ya On The Sea's..Capt. Joe
